We sit together on my couch. Wrak'h is trying to make sense of a sitcom on TV, and I'm leaning my head on his shoulders, just being with him.

I feel so much better now. Wrak'h is here, he obviously intends what's best for me and the child, he seems to know a lot about male pregnancies, and Jen is out taking care of business. I trust her a lot, and I know she's good. It seems that all I have to do is let the pregnancy develop and enjoy sexy times with my hunk of a boyfriend.

Because we plainly are an item now. We're probably a strange couple – the huge, crazy-strong and super confident alien warrior and the slender graphical artist, perennially wracked with crippling self-doubt.

I'm not going to inquire too much about what Wrak'h's intentions are with me just yet. I'm not sure what I'm hoping for. Do aliens get married? Do they get married to other males? If he married me, would that mean I would be his queen? Or what?

Anyway, it seems that our baby will have a pretty good life.

Jens sends me a text:

Holy crap. Just one of those stones netted us 76k! Remind me to go to more abduction parties :D

"Looks like people like your diamonds," I say into Wrak'h's ear. "They're bringing in a lot of money."

He just grunts, not too interested. But I want to jump for joy. He really does have good resources. And I actually don't doubt that he's a king. His regal bearing and aura can't really come from anything else than being insanely powerful and exercising that power in very direct ways. Like a warrior king would.

I don't have a lot of experience with that, but it seems to me that he's a pretty good lover, too. Dominant and demanding, but also obviously concerned with my pleasure. We seem to be a pretty good match. But maybe everyone think they're a good match for him.

Several days go by like this. Wrak'h is in my apartment and his spaceship hovers invisibly over the house. He's gone for a few hours a day, scouting for those creepy Vlix, and then we spend the rest of the day together. We have hot sex a couple of times every day, and it doesn't seem as if the baby minds at all. I checked, too – pregnant women can usually engage in sex until pretty close to the delivery. Fine with me.

The morning sickness is pretty much gone, but the food cravings and the mood swings are still in full force. Now I'm eating a lot of rice cakes and carrots, for some reason. I don't question it that much anymore, and Jen has stopped raising her eyebrows when we go shopping and I get corned beef, vinegar, raspberry jello, huge amounts of avocado and sourdough bread and then suggest we go home, because I got everything I needed.

I eat a lot, too, and all of it seems to go to the baby, because I don't look fat.
